The younger of two sons, Caevius was not meant to inherit the family estate and property. He enlisted in the Emperor's Blades at the age of seventeen, and undertook a career that brought fame and distinction. Serving as an Imperial Horseman under his cousin, the former Horselord Baron Warlan Lomasa, his daring deeds as a veteran in the Second Wildling War - and in particular at the Stand of Eastwatch where he tried to rescue and stood next to the Viscount Nolan Lomasa - awarded Caevius the Emperor's favour. He was granted property as a pension, to be perpetually owned and awarded to his heirs, and has since lived out of Westwatch at Lodenfalls Keep.
Never married, a confirmed bachelor until his old age, he has taken the young and promising Baron Godric Lomasa, his favourite nephew by his elder brother the Viscount Lucius Lomasa and his wife Sanrah Lomasa, as his heir and successor.
