Origins[]
Taciturn on the best of days, Reese has offered up very few details about her own personal history. She is believed to be related to, whether immediately or distantly, to the Firelights of the Emperor's Forest, though she has neither confirmed nor denied any relationship. Her only known blood relative is marked mage Kael Firelight, though a chilly distance seems to persist between them.
While the reasons why remain unclear, she has confessed to having spent several years of her life alone, ranging in the wild -- undoubtedly the kernel from which her antisocial tendencies and dislike of urban lifestyles have sprouted.
Reese is known to wield the legendary Valgard's Vice and wear a suit of fine obsidian ringmail, but has not elaborated upon how either came into her possession.
Recent History[]
Following the rise of Zolor Zahir and the Shadow Amnesty, Reese was known to be in the employ of Count Varal Mikin, serving as a scout among the Torchbearers. But despite her fanatic -- and typically unexplained -- loyalty to the Count and House Mikin, she turned in her tabard and once again struck out on her own when mongoose wed wildcat to form House Valoria in 628 ATA.
Since then, Reese has been named in reports surrounding a number of events in and around Fastheld, including investigations into anti-Zahiran raven burnings in the Vale and the capture of a murderous Shadowbeast loose on Driscol lands.
She is most often seen alone, and seldom stays in one place for extended periods of time. As she has no apparent residence, trade, or source of income, some have begun to wonder what this close-lipped Freelander is actually all about.
