Organizations, or Orgs for short, is a catch-all style phrase designed to define the various groups, factions, and other entities that exist within the Orion Arm and beyond.

Some are made and ran by PCs, others are portrayed by staff to give the theme some more flavor.

No one being is an island, and most will have at least some connection to a couple organizations ICly, if only to give them background flavor.

Also it should be kept in mind more organizations, companies, and the like exist than can be detailed here. The Orion Arm is a big place with billions living within it, so mentioning 'a company that does something' that isn't listed here is not a problem. In fact, if it keeps coming up, it should probably be added to this list so other PCs can start using it.
