A Vanguard general who, in 2651, rose to the position of commander-in-chief of the military after the fall of Dimitri Volstov during the Bright Horizons scandal. Charles Avocet ran unsuccessfully against the Centauran Councillor Dahan for the post of Stellar Consortium President. Avocet coordinated the successful campaign to liberate Sivad from Laurence Montevedo. As the Kretonian war fleet closed on Sol System, Avocet opted to stay with the coalition defense force to buy time for Sanctuary's escape. He died in the conflict. The main boulevard in Hesperia is named after him.
