FASTHELD - A fisherman, known to locals as Forsythe, lost his balance while trying to wrestle a river otter aboard a borrowed keelboat and tumbled into the chilly Lightholder River. The steersman tried extended a pole to the man, but succeeded only in knocking hard against the fisherman's head. The steersman watched as Forsythe slipped beneath the surface. Another crewman on the boat leaped into the water to try and save the fisherman, bringing him back to the surface, but both men were too far from the boat as the current kept pulling them along. Ultimately, the two succumbed to the cold and then drowned.
