Born November 8th 2953 on Rima Sirsalis, Abraham had an uneventful childhood. Born to loving parents (both of whom he stayed on good terms with after the usual teenage turmoil), of an average working class background, Abe did well enough in school to attend university. The usual course as a mathmetician slowly became subsumed as he joined the Officer Training Corps, which took up more and more of his time. Eventually he graduated with an average degree and joined the Luna Militia full time.
And that's where he shone, those years at university and his own taciturn nature, as well as a likeable personality. Reasonable requests, reasonable orders you couldn't say no to mixed with that detached but strong personality made him a natural leader. And he was a thinker, sometimes radically so, allowing him to stick out from the crowd and led to steady promotions. The loss of too many good men during the cold war with Earth and later Mars led to his taciturn slowly becoming gruff, and detachment became cold. All a mask to hide his sensitive nature.
During the moebius crisis he was a Brigadier General, leading a small group of militia to ungstir where they set up a small enclave, he refused to return to Alt-Luna, only coming home when the wave reversed. Soon after his return, the Militia as he knew it was never reformed, instead he moved to New Luna and took up a position and promotion in the NLM's High Command. Widely considered the obvious choice for command of Hancock Station, he was passed over in favor of Brig. General Ryan. With Ryan's death, High Command has chosen Gladstone as the best man to try and whip the station into shape to deal with the current crisis.
It's unknown how he really feels about the merger between the New Luna Militia and the Vanguard, however since the merger came about at his order, it's assumed he supports the move.
