[edit] Early Life
Morgan's formative years were spent variously aboard the Junkyard and pirate vessels on raids. As one of the very few children resulting from relationships on the pirate base, he spent much of his early life among adults, and was forced to mature much more quickly than his peers in other societies.
In 2951, at the age of six, following the arrest and execution of most of the Morgan clan during an ill-advised trip to Sivad, he was placed under the state's care and grew up in a foster home. He parted on good terms with his foster parents in 2963, at age 18, and hired a small transport ostensibly to take him to find his fortune in the Sol system. When the shuttle departed, however, Morgan hijacked it and forced its pilot to fly to the coordinates he remembered for the Junkyard--the first act of piracy in a storied career.
[edit] Return to Piracy
When Morgan arrived at the Junkyard in 2963, he found the station falling apart. Barely a hundred residents remained, clustered around the station's docking bay, and much of the rest was uninhabitable due to failures in life support. Morgan, with no savings and little experience in engineering and spaceflight, set about rallying those who remained aboard the Junkyard around him. They cannibalized parts of the station and put together a three-ship fleet, and set off toward the Sivadian shipping lanes.
On their first cruise, ending December 28th, 2963, the pirates captured seven ships for a total haul of nearly three million credits, escaping capture by the Royal Naval Service and falling back to the Junkyard.
The next few cruises of the Junkyard pirates met with similar success, and as the pirates sold their loot to fences in the Boromov syndicate, the livable parts of the Junkyard began to expand. Likewise, as word filtered through the underworld that piracy from the Junkyard was alive and well, the station's population expanded to fill the space available. By 2965, more than three thousand pirates inhabited the Junkyard.
In 2966, Henry Morgan and the crew he'd assembled came across the IND Satisfaction, stripped of its arms and shields and put into service as a merchant vessel, and recaptured it for the Junkyard. After repairs and renovations, it became Morgan's flagship for the next twenty-four years. Through 2990, Morgan wreaked havoc on merchant shipping across the Orion Arm, looting more than two hundred fifty ships for a combined gross value of almost four hundred million credits.
