FASTHELD - Word from Fastheld Keep indicates that after a second day of competition, a leader has yet to emerge for the new elite Flying Dagger force in the Emperor's Blades.

Three competitors led four soldiers each in separate attempts to snare a red pennant from the top of the northeast tower.

Lucius Nepos tried a direct assault from the base of the northeast tower, but lost his squad in the the altercation.

Nikolaes Zahir split his squad in two, taking routes up the undefended northwest and southeast towers - but got ambushed on the battlements and lost his squad in detail.

Paelnor Harper attempted another direct assault, this time using spears, but ended up losing his squad in much the same fashion as Nepos.

Blademaster Hartnek Lomasa allowed Nikolaes Zahir a second try with a fresh squad. Zahir kept the squad intact, ascended the southeast tower, raised shields against archer volleys and watched for ambushers coming over the wall - but didn't notice the ambushers on the roof of the southeast tower. This squad came even closer to grabbing the pennant, but still wound up defeated.

Hartnek Lomasa will allow one more raid in the coming days. Next time, Nikolaes Zahir will lead a squad consisting of other competitors.
